Valtria designed and executed a diagnostic test production unit that enables the processing of samples without prior preparation, allowing results for up to 48 molecular targets simultaneously. These tests facilitate the diagnosis of severe respiratory and intestinal infections, among others. The facility is located on the ground floor of the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB), where QIAGEN operates. The technical area for the common services of PCB is situated on the terrace, where the air treatment units and necessary equipment for this installation are housed.

About the project

This turnkey project includes not only the air treatment system for ISO 8 and ISO 7 classified production laboratories, but also all the necessary utilities for production: compressed air supply, fire detection and suppression systems, access control and intrusion prevention, and complete electrical installation for all equipment (fume hoods, furniture, etc.). The project also covers the installation of low-voltage systems (voice and data, public address system), an integrated facility control system, and room architecture elements such as enclosures and flooring, as well as all required furnishings.

Valtria delivered the installation fully qualified, meeting DQ (Design Qualification), IQ (Installation Qualification), and OQ (Operational Qualification) standards (excluding PQ – Performance Qualification).
