The experience of our team
The project represents one of the most important installations of R&D laboratories in the field of health sciences in Europe, with over 29,000 m², including complete HVAC systems and automation of control. The PCB installations, the first Spanish science park, have all the latest advances in technology for energy saving, the reduction of pollution levels and reliability.
Ramon Parera and his team (which involved over 20 engineers and technicians and more than 100 fitters) carried out the implementation of all the installations of the PCB, from the 12 MW transformer, 5 MW cold production and refrigeration to the air treatment, with over 72 air conditioning units and extractors. The automation system consists of more than 4,000 control points.
The PCB facilities boast all the latest advances in technology for energy saving, the reduction of pollution levels and reliability.
Established by the University of Barcelona in 1997, the PCB was the first science park in Spain and is now an international leader in promoting innovation, bringing together more than 2,000 professionals.
It currently provides a location for 3 research institutes, over 70 institutions and an extensive provision of technological research support. It also organises activities to promote scientific culture and to encourage new scientific vocations in which nearly 4,500 people participate every year.
The PCB currently has a total surface area of 86,638 m², divided into 29,530 m² of laboratory space, 8,700 m² of office space and 21,030 m² of floor space for other uses.
